Update of whats been going on
As this is a relatively new blog and not many know about this im just going to keep this short but kind of informative on whats going on.
Currently BalloonZ is on the back burner, it still needs some tweaking with the menues and the parallax effects. and finishing the artwork with the enemies.
Other then that another project is on its way, currently working on integrations with steams API. Its a 2 player coop against the computer. the Issues ive faced here is the design of the network code rather than anything else. I tried using Photon but the priceplan is reasonable for a small indie game and would eat up anything earned over time.
So the decisions were made to continue the path of creating an own network engine. were im following along a A youtube channel called Tom Weiland. He is creating a pirate game that looks interesting and has some good tutorials for simple network code, its easy to follow a long. Issues that I had was that I overthought things and ended up messing everything up and ended up postproning everything for a few months.
The Resources ive been following along have been some menue design tutorials From Brackeys on Youtube, Tom Weiland for the network engine and Dapper Dino for the steam integration parts. I know this blog/page isnt large now but still think its important to shout out the sources ive used to gather information.
The formatting of this blog and the newsposts will alter as time goes by as I grow with this.
For now thats about it. Hopefully will be another update end of september with progress and maybe a screen of the project.
The Hog.
